I’m on my bed, staring at the laptop screen with my 2 yr old next to me. “What should I write about?” I ask.
She scrunches her nose and answers, “um, bunny rabbits.”
“What about bunny rabbits?” I ask.
“And teddy bears,” she tells me.
“Do you like bunny rabbits or bears the best?”
She smiles. “Teddy bears.” Then she covers half her face with a blanket and grins from underneath.
“I can see the moon,” she says.
“Really?” I move my head close to hers.
Out the far window, across the hall, the full moon greets my gaze.
“You were right!” I tell her. “The moon is there. Let’s take a picture.” I grab the camera and snap a photo.

How cute! Certainly a moment you can't buy. What a beautiful kid.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. Kids often hold on to what we as adults tend to forget...the awesome innocense of it all. :) I'm shocked you can write with a 2 year old next to you BTW.
ReplyDeleteLol ah, the wisdom of small children. Love the photo! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your thoughts. I'm lucky to have a great family. Laila, she's not always that good when I'm writing. In fact, I'm trying to edit book two right now while she's wiggling all over my bed and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It's cute, so I'm not getting any work done.
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie! I remember what it was like trying to write with little ones around. Quiet time became precious.
ReplyDeleteI've given you a versatile blogger award, check it out on my blog: http://offwithefairies.blogspot.com/2011/09/10-things-you-probably-didnt-want-to.html
